Upcoming April Events

Hey folks!

First, I want to say hello to all of the many fantastic people we have met at festivals so far this year. We were pretty busy right out of the gate in 2012, but things are slowing down a little bit as spring arrives and our efforts turn to the grape-growing instead of the (much loved) grape-consuming. But that’s not to say we won’t be out there meeting, greeting, and pouring! Here are the two events we have scheduled for the month of April:

Friday, April 6th – We will be pouring our wine for the “Our Common Landscape” opening, a First Friday event at the WVTF and Radio IQ Studio Gallery at 216 West Water St, in Charlottesville, from 5-7. I’ve never poured at a First Friday, but I’ve attended plenty, and they’re a blast. And in addition to seeing many of you there, personally, I’m looking forward to hearing our local DJs say who’s providing wine for the event on air all afternoon with a straight face. Should make for great radio!

Saturday, April 28th – The Fork & Cork festival in Blacksburg. We had fun at the Fork and Cork last year, but didn’t quite anticipate how large the crowd was going to be. This year we’ll be back with even more of our fine Well Hung pourers in tow, so let’s hope for short lines and long tastings. The Fork and Cork is great though, because even when you’re not tasting, something incredible to nibble on is close at hand.

That’s all we have lined up for April so far. Check back though- we have a lot of festivals and events as we get closer to summer, and if anything pops up on short notice, we’ll post it here. And on Facebook. And Twitter.

Cheers!

Ending “The Blog” Hiatus

Sorry, everyone, for neglecting this part of the website for so long. Lately, all of the words I’ve been putting forth on the internet have been to our Twitter and Facebook page. But this space here is important – I promise to be better about posting upcoming events well before they happen and broadcasting recent product releases (like the 2010s we’re putting online very soon) using “the blog”.

Thanks for stickin’ with us. Thanks for swingin’ by. And, of course, thanks for enjoying the Well Hung wine.

Cheers!

New Vendor- Wine Made Simple Grand Opening

Hey folks!

We’re pleased to share with y’all two newsy items: 1) there’s a new wine store in town! and 2) it carries Well Hung!

Today is the grand opening of Wine Made Simple (check ‘em out on Facebook here). Wine Made Simple is a great, female owned, decidedly unpretentious new wine shoppe in Charlottesville where nothing is priced over the $20′s. How great does that sound? I feel a bit like we’re kindred spirits, so we’re very excited that they’re all stocked up on the Well Hung Everyday Chardonnay, Verdot/Merlot, and Cab Franc. In a little while we’ll be heading over there to partake in the opening festivities, lasting until 9 p.m. tonight, featuring complimentary food and wine tastings. Let’s give this place a warm welcome! Hope to see you there!

You’d better believe it’s on the map!

Cheers!

And keep a lookout for a couple big new retailers we’ll announce soon….

Countdown- One Week to Virginia Wine Expo!

For Virginia wine fans (and I known y’all are out there), there is perhaps no event more spectacular than the Virginia Wine Expo going down next weekend (2/25 – 2/27) at the Greater Richmond Convention Center. The Expo is really something to behold; if you’ve never been before, treat yourself to over 350 wines (note: Well Hung and your liver do not endorse trying all 350 wines) from over 60 Virginia vineyards. If, like us, you’re veterans of the event, than you know it’s not to be missed and you probably bought your tickets weeks ago and had the weekend excitedly marked on your calender since last year. Coming to an event like this just to sample one vineyard is pretty ridiculous… unless that one vineyard is Well Hung, in which case we totally understand and encourage you to save $10 by buying your tickets in advance right here! When you’re walking around the giant space with your Grand Tasting Pass, we’d love to have you stop by our little booth to try our dazzling array of wines and also check out some new products before they hit our online store. If for some reason you can’t spend all Saturday (11 – 6) or Sunday (11 – 5) trying different wines, don’t worry! The Virginia Wine Expo also has some very interesting sounding seminars and tastings scheduled over the weekend (which I would totally check out if I could sneak away from the booth long enough).

If you need any more information about the event, go ahead and check out the Virginia Wine Expo website- there’s a wealth of information on all of the different events, including the Governor’s Cup Grand Tasting on Friday night.

We certainly hope to see each and every one of you there! You can bet that in any free moments, we’ll be doing some Tweeting, so keep an eye on our Twitter account if you want up to the moment info and just maybe an insider deal or two (*hint hint*).

Cheers!

A Well Hung craft – let there be light!

What fun and creative fans we have!

When I look at a Well Hung bottle, I see a bottle. But the Well Hung patrons who recently emailed us these images saw something more.

Pretty cool, eh? It’s a lamp! It’s recycling! It’s Well Hung! It’s so many things I love. (Resisting the urge to make an “I love lamp” reference… [too late!]). Don’t expect it in our online store anytime soon… but you can feel free to make your own!

Cheers! And we love hearing from you guys! Your ingenuity and spirit always impresses us.
